Green Integrity
OUR GOAL IS TO BALANCE RESPONSIBILITY & AFFORDABILITY.
Green construction means choosing building products and processes to minimize environmental impact. At Integrity, we strive to accomplish this while meeting an overall goal of affordable construction. We seek to reduce energy usage by 20 percent while raising cost less than 10 percent over conventional building projects. Additionally, we can reduce solid waste by more than 30 percent. It is possible to build responsibly without significant cost implications.
We would like the opportunity to work with you to develop an environmentally friendly project that meets your individual needs and desires.

KNOW YOUR 50 WAYS TO BE GREEN
DESIGN
- 1. Lighting, ventilation, space heating and domestic hot water system designed with a whole house energy model.
- 2. Compact building form reduces environmental footprint
- 3. Building oriented for solar access, south-facing roof for future solar energy systems
- 4. Climate-appropriate building design
FRAMING & INSULATION
- 5. Thermal insulation exceeds building code - R65 roofs, R45 walls, R20 foundation, R10 basement floor
- 6. Use of blown cellulose insulation - better filled wall cavities and reduced sound transmission
- 7. Using certified lumber
- 8. Increased air tightness of building assemblies
- 9. All penetrations through plane of air tightness to be sealed with caulking or spray foam
- 10. Larger roof overhangs reduce summer heat by shading walls and windows
- 11. ENERGY STAR qualified high performance windows
- 12. Low maintenance fiber cement siding and exterior trim
- 13. Recycling program for waste building materials
- 14. 2 X 6 framing at 24" spacing (advanced framing) to reduce wood consumption and increasing R value.
- 15. Use of two stud corners to reduce wood consumption and increase overall R value
- 16. Low expansion foam air seal between window and door unit and their rough openings
- 17. Non-toxic pest controls including insect and rodent screens and anti-termite measures
-
18. Furring to drain and back-ventilate siding extends siding service life
- 19. Construction waste management plan to reduce waste sent to landfill
LANDSCAPING
- 20. Soil erosion controls in place during construction
- 21. Permeable paving used where possible to reduce storm surface and impact on virgin environment
- 22. Roof water collection for watering lawns and gardens
AIR HANDLING & MECHANICAL
- 23. Increased level of thermal insulation reduces heating and cooling equipment size and operating costs
- 24. Sealed combustion appliances to keep combustion gases safely out of the indoor environment
- 25. Dedicated outdoor air intake for ventilation system
- 26. Controlled ventilation system to provide reliable supply of ventilation air to all rooms in the home
- 27. Timers on all bathroom exhaust fans
- 28. High efficiency, sealed combustion hot water heater
- 29. Heating system is a high efficiency 95% AFUE sealed combustion furnace
- 30. Programmable thermostat to minimize energy use
- 31. Improved filtering of ventilation air (MERV 10 filters)
- 32. Carbon monoxide detectors placed on each floor
- 33. Ability to create an active radon mitigation system without major construction
- 34. Passive radon mitigation system - installation of sub-slab to roof vent with rough-in for future fan
- 35. Insulation used on exposed hot water piping to reduce energy lost
- 36. Humidification and Dehumidification.
